EOLA-AMITY HILLS AVADRY FARMEDSUSTAINABLE WITHOUT HERBICIDES
Denny has been farming the southwest ridge of the Eola-Amity Hills since the 1970’s. Originally the proprietor of Eola Springs Vineyard, he became obsessed with the rocky slope just above his site. In 2007 he purchased that rock strewn, volcanic clay site and developed it into the exceptional vineyard now known as Sojourner.
The vineyard sits on the southern end of the Eola-Amity Hills, facing southwest towards the coast range. At 650 feet in elevation, the site overlooks the valley and surrounding farmlands from its perch on the steep hill. Denny planted the original 15 acres with three clones of Pinot Noir: Dijon 115, Pommard and Wadenswill, with a recent planting of 3.26 acres of Chardonnay.
